Literally at the heart of Seattle's Pioneer Square, the historic Pioneer Building sits on the northeast corner of First Avenue and James Street, as it has done since 1892, three years after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889.

The Organ Mountains, just east of Las Cruces, New Mexico, find themselves enshrouded in clouds, creeping in from the east, over the summits and making their way down the western slopes to the valley floor below.

Looks like fall, but this image was actually captured in the spring, after thunderstorm winds had blown leaves from the trees down onto the Cottonwood Trail boardwalk at Virginia's Shenandoah River State Park. I did a few digital tricks to create the finished work... converting the original color image to grayscale then adding a touch of sepia tint... I darkened the background, and selectively tinted the leaves in soft gold.I love the soft glow against the dark, textured boards.

El Matador State Beach in Malibu Ca, magnificent bluffs with caves that look out over the Pacific Ocean, unique eroding formations on the face of the bluff, there are stairs to the beach. stunning sunset in a water cave on the beach as boats race by
